I think feelings of exhaustion and despondency are endemic among pretty much everyone to the left of Pinochet these days. Watching my fellow countrymen re-elect Donald Trump, I'm reminded of the time I saw a guy who'd just been in a serious motorcycle accident, obviously in shock, punch a doctor who happened to be on the scene who was trying to prevent him from attempting to stand up on a leg that was still attached to him by like by one ligament. After the guy slugged him, the doc just backed off and said, "Okay, you win. Go ahead. Stand up."
Is this a thing that happens in dreams? I seem to have ones of a similar bent— the whole dream is about awaiting something awful, but I wake up before the awful thing ever happens. I guess that’s preferable, but why, Brain, why?
That is great writing, Tim. You led us into feeling it with you. And it captures an example of something we've all experienced--finding ourselves in ridiculous dilemma in a dream. I hope I am not being Captain Obvious.
I feel like there's a mystery here, something unsaid, something I missed..? I must have missed something and will read again. I trust your writing to the max, Tim. I'll try to figure this out. :)
So you’d rather not fight, or resist? This I want to know more about.
